You've just had the bike serviced and off to Darwin from Barossa, new tyres etc. Coober Pedy, no start, not even sweeping indicator instrument check. Hmm,
battery. Try and get the tools out from under seat when you cant get the key out. Point one, carry spare key in tank bag. Not allowed in service area, so not
sure how battery comes out. Overtightened bolts, break allen key, battery partially out, oh dear the negative terminal connection only screwed down a couple of
turns. Burns hole in battery plastic cover. Point 2 check it yr self before u leave. One in a million this one. South of Darwin on abt 100 metres of small
gravel driveway, apply foot brake and turn onto bitumen road and try to accelerate. No go, foot brake is hard down in applied position. No turn of back wheel,
front one OK. A small pebble thrown up from front tyre lodged in gap between pedal rear apparatus not allowing foot pedal to return.
No answer how to avoid this one. Always carry hundred mile an hour tape so that u can tape down yr new GIVI 46 top box because over a few bumps on the bitumen the box over rides the locking mechanism and the box was locked.
Ran Ultra unleaded to Darwin 3000ks and regular on way home. No difference on Av km/lit an d 2 up on way home so thats different.
Any help, particularly the top box Givi lock prob.
cheers
