Don't know about GTR's but I had a similar problem with my previous Honda CBX750F which was about 20 years old. Kept blowing headlights and other odd lamps etc. After some searching by motorcycle electrician it proved to be a fault in the ignition switch which had a poor connection on some of the innards. Problem was intermittent which made it hard to track. End result was that the regulator was not getting a reliable voltage reference from the alternator and alternator was putting full unregulated voltage on the lamps. Initially the mechanic blamed the regulator which he replaced only to find problem still there, which led him to the real problem. Refitted old regulator and bought new ignition switch and problem solved but it did take a few weeks to locate parts etc. Remember that lamps are very voltage sensitive, at correct voltage range 12V lamps give very long life. Also be careful, some other components can be damaged by over-voltage too. The lamps may just be the first obvious sign. You may need the services of a very good auto/motobike sparky as I did to track it down.

Hope that may help - Good luck
