So. Who's having a bet and what have you bet on? I picked "Mad Rush" from the paper before I knew it was the favourite so have put an each
way bet on. I think? Well, something like that?? It was the first name I read from the list, so it's the one for me. We're cooking beer bum
chicken on the BBQ for lunch and will have this with salad, and a few wines and beer. Mmmmmm. Yummy. Good luck to all those having a flutter and I hope
you all do well.

Ummmmmmmm, which horse and jockey thingy won the cup?

I can't tell you the name of the jockey, but the horse was "Viewed." Bart Cummings is the trainer. Strangely enough my best girl picked the
winner, but didn't make a bet! We've made a "date" for next years cup to make sure she has a bet. She wins prizes and competitions all the
time. Has a room full of raffle prizes! Needless to say I've picked my Christmas present. He he.

We went to the local RSL as we do each year for the lunch and race. The whole team plus partners gets into it and we have a ball. Closed the office at 11:30am
and opened back up at 3pm.
I have some pics, will post some later. Life is hard. |

Excuse my ignorance Mrs Tosh but what the hell is "Beer Bum Chicken"

Hi Gav!
I'm glad you asked about Beer Bum Chicken. It's a chicken done on the BBQ with an open beer can (of choice) pretty much shoved up its... We've done this a couple of times and the chicken comes out SO tender. Perfect! Would you like to see a picture and have the recipe? BTW. It was great meeting you in Busselton. I kept wondering. Where's this Telstra dude! If you ever speak to the Customnet Programmers in Brisbane, say hello from me. I am notorious. Well. WAS??? I'm still in touch with a couple of them and miss them a lot. Guess who put their resume on the Telstra Careers site this week! OMG! I JUUUST might be coming back... I hope. :) Meanwhile I've renewed my contract with the Public Service today. Eeeeeeeow! At least it's employment and income. Especially (I dare say it) these financial times... |

So I tried cooking a couple of Beer Bum Chooks last night. Turns out one of them was a Scottish! How do you tell? It had such a tight a&(#e it crushed the
can. We replace the beer with white wine in one can. Very nice. Took a bit longer to cook than normal we think (in our oven).

After a hard days work with the Public Service that's hilarious!
By Scottish you mean tight... he he...What size chicken did you get? Was the chicken dead? I think we used a size 18 free range. We've done this a
couple of times so I guess they've got bigger $%%$ holes... Best on a BBQ with the lid closed. I will put on a pic' shortly. Was the chicken juicy?
I also found that using the leftover chicken for salad and sambos that you could actually taste the beer flavour. I'm glad the wine turned out too. Must
try that one too. Excellent.

Perfection itself.

Yeah, pretty sure they were both dead, no hint of a pulse and they were frozen solid! Ummmm, maybe that could have affected the rear entry procedure. Another
suggestion on the night was to use a smaller can like Red Bull, tender chicken that keeps you up all night.

Ummm. Yes. Me thinks that due the frozen state of the chickens would have affected the rear entry quite a bit!!!
Is that your very bright bike in your avatar?
