I drive a Silver Nissan Pulsar. Nothing particularly special, but she's okay I guess. Had huge troubles with the idle air control and the computer a few
years back and it's apparently a very common problem with them. Still not 100% perfect, but will trade her in in a few years. My first car was a 1977
Toyota Cressida that use to stall in the middle of roundabouts and break down all over the place. She had a black vinyl roof and was hotter than Haddes in
Summer. I swear I could lose 2 or 3 kilos JUST by driving home from work!!! My second car was a 93 Nissan Pulsar hatchback and I loved her and apart from a
minor oil leak she was perfect. I smashed her up in Brisbane... :( Oh well.
One day I WILL have an old Holden if there's any left anywhere? They're like precious gems now and they even smell differently. Maybe beer and cigarettes??? Baked vinyl?? My brain often lives in the past...

Gee, cars are another passion of mine - only have to have a lot more storage space to indulge.
Currently drive a 2002 TJ Magna Sports wagon in 'Sable' " <Image removed> Then there's the Golf Cabriolet <Image removed> (not mine but the same bar colour) And then the hot-rod A 1980 BJ40 Toyota SWB with a 350 Chev fitted. Can anyone say 20litres per 100km
<Image removed> Then of courese, there's the 1978 124 Fiat Spider, the Golf GTi, the two HJ 308 utes, the 1948 Vauxhall Wyvern

I don't own a car but here is SHMBO's 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander.
Styling is a bit awkward and the motor a bit underpowered but it is actually a very nice vehicle, definitely under rated.

Mine is a little V6 Rodeo that I call the "White Wheelbarrow", very hungry on fuel but I won't get rid of it 'cos its so handy to have.
The "Dear One" has her own VX Commodore. |

Hey Dave, how do you find the luggage pod on the roof?
Do you reckon it changes fuel consumption much?

Ray I don't think so, well not noticeably. We did the WA trip and back in April with it and its worth its weight in gold. Kept the bulky rarely needed
stuff up there.

I own a '92 Mitsubishi Verada, love it.
Donna owns this. Here's the real engine, a 2.4 2L diesel taken from an earlier model Hilux. Cheapest way we could get the '92 4runner back on the road.

Well I have a new 2008 Mondeo TDCI hatch and it is a beauty. I average 800-900klms per tank full cost have as much to run as the commodore I had drive for the
last three years. My wife has a 2007 Elantra Elite also a fine automobile.

I have the Turbo Brick:
Falcodore drivers HATE when 18 year old, 2.3 litre four banger wagons show them up! It's a great car, and is all I hoped it would be when I started looking for one, big, roomy, easy to maintain, pretty good handler, great economy and performance etc. leather seats, climate control ABS (yes, on a 1990 built wagon), 16" factory wheels etc. The fiance and I have this too, which Mel drives daily:
TW Magna. One of the most under rated, maligned cars made in Australia. They're truly brilliant cars, packed with features (our base model has four airbags, climate control, cruise, ESC, traction control etc, a full two years before the Commodores got it and claimed to be the "first" )and were always a couple of steps ahead of anything else locally made. Magnas
are great value, too bad people still think FWD is bad for some reason...usually when it kicks their ass at the traffic lights!
Ride quality, handling and fit and finish, as always with the local Mitsubishis, is far superior to the other local cars. It's too bad Mitsubishi couldn't get their shit together with regards marketing and sales.......... Regards, Andrew. |

I'm on my second Magna, close to 450,000km travelled since 1999 in first 3 litre and now 228,000 in the 3.5 TJ Sports Wagon. Just love my Mitsubishi - pacemaker headers, full 2.5inch stainless system, K&N filter, strut bars, Ralliart Steering wheel, late model VRX wheels, lovells springs KYB shocks etc

Hey Ron
My second car was a '93 Nissan Pulsar Hatchback. Loved her! Had a small oil leek, but never missed a beat. Same colour as this website actually. Noice. My current Nissan (with dicky Idle air control) is a 2001 silver sedan. 1.8. Don't love her, but I own her outright as of this last week. Yay! Steve bought a second hand C 1980's Mitsubishi Magna Executive last Winter for his work car. It smells of meat, cigarettes and beer... It's really comfortable though and the air-con and heating is WAY better
than mine. I want (note: WANT) a new car, but won't do it while contracting. I'm thinking of the new Mitsubishi? You know the ad' Lights go
on. Lights go off! Could be fun! Then I do like the Ford Fiesta, but the amazing colour I want (The bright orange) only comes in the top of the line Turbo
version. Pick own colour my @$$!@!!!@ Then I could buy a Camero that a friend wants to sell. Oh the fuel!!! but Oh the grunt....Sigh... Maybe I should
subscribe to "Classic Car" mag....
I LOVE ABS. I had an "experience" in the U.K in (their) Winter of 2001/02. I was driving a Vauxall Omega (Holden Commodore) with all the trimmings. V8, heated seats. You name it. It had the lot, including ABS. Driving up the A1 at about 120 (ish) and chatting away to my Dad in heavy fog there was suddenly traffic at a standstill in front of us. Remembering what I'd been told and taught in a Telstra driver safety course I planted my foot and kept it there. I was SO close to the car in front. Unreal! The road was wet and it was about minis 10 degrees or something. They are the BEST and my next car will have it for sure! If you've ever used them in an emergency stop they really work. Vibrations up the leg is odd, but it means it's working...FANTASTIC.... |

This is my 1929 Chevrolet. Drove it to Armidale last Easter and returned
via Walcha, Wauchope etc. I like driving this thing around because you just have to sit back and relax and take in the scenery. Cruising speed 50mph.
Bearings are white metal and oil feed is only by dippers. Not the best city car, crash box and mechanical brakes.
