Davo,
Maybe OX34 can tell us how to hit a 'roo at 95 kph and not even come off! [didn't do the bike wonders 'tho!] I was in serious "pucker mode" just before and after sunset between Cassilis and Denman on the way back from Tottenham knowing how many of the little hoppitties I've cleaned up in the ute in that section! That's funny - My diary seems to be empty on those dates. I guess some forward planning can't be all bad. It's in there now, so I guess I'm
going north mid 09.
Davo - Even though I'm new to your crowd and don't know what support mechanisms you have going already, if there is a need for help in little things like collating names and numbers or something else that lightens your load, please put the word out. I'd be happy to help if it can be done from this end of the dirt, as would many others I'm sure. The roads might be long and straight, but the internet means we are pretty close for some things. Much appreciate the offer Mick and many before you. I tend to get things done mainly on my own for various reasons but thanks for the offer. Its not that hard
really, I work best under a bit of a deadline and pressure. Like Peter Thoeming of Road Rider has been at me for another story since last October so I told him
to give me a deadline, that's in two weeks and I am yet to start writing it LOL
Want something done, ask a busy person. I do have a member doing an online registration program for us but he seems to be asleep on the job, can't get anyone to work for free these days hahahaa |

17th July eh, hmm, it will probably be close to snowing in Melbourne
should be great for the first 1,000 kms of a 1,924 km ride to Cooroy.

Looks like I'll be doing a SS2000 with a 4:30 check in. Was planning a BB2500 but to clear the major centres (Sydney) meant that I would be arriving at
around 3:00PM. At least I will have plenty of time to tweak the ride plan befor July.

Keep in mind that once registered and I give you the bonus locations and WORD options it's unlikely you will be taking the shortest route. You will have 30
days to plan the route based on WORD/s you choose from my list.

Hey Davo - Any chance that the GPS Coordinates of the gathering point can be included with the ride details? It was easy with Tottenham as its a small place
with a big pub, but Cooroy and Nambucca are a bit bigger. A lot of people now run a GPS (not all have mapping capability) and having the 'target'
plotted might save a few of us (or just me) from getting lost at the end of the ride. Just a thought. Funny what pops into your head when you're out riding
and playing with your GPS. Cheers, Mick.

One jump ahead of you, check the last FarRide to Nambucca Heads.
http://www.farriders.com/farride6.htm The Cooroy one was just a heads up and basic information, there is a lot I will be adding to that web page once I get back from WA. Mick I see you have another user name and looking at it (as it's the same) it seems you registered this one back in '04 and had been posting somewhere else. So best guess is its a ezboard global name and the one you posted here before is a local name you registered here. Suggest stick with the older one that you just posted with, just an idea.

Excellent Davo. I missed that when I was browsing the previous posts and threads. It's a struggle to find the time to do all the things that need doing, so
I tend to 'scan'. Obviously not very well! Or maybe I did glimpse that and that's what put the thought in my head. Anyway - Thanks for being ahead
of the game (as usual). It will be in my GPS tonight.
Yep - I was registered with the old R1150R Ezy Board that has now become a Yuku Board (or something). Another thing that I have trouble keeping up with. By the way (on a completely different thread for those doing a night run to get to Nambucca or Cooroy), I fitted some Narva Compac 100 driving lights to the bike. Long overdue modification and has made the world of difference to night riding. Only 55w each, so not taxing on the electrical system (relayed and fused etc), but work very well indeed. The lights are available for around $80 - $140 depending on the shop and specials and come in a blister-pack kit with everything that's needed except a waterproof switch. I obtained a suitable switch from a marine shop for $8. Anyway - It sort of relates to the 09 trips! Easy to do and well worth the effort. The lights aren't 'pretty', but are very functional if you don't want to spring for HID lights at much higher cost. |

Look like these maybe ? On my older 1000GTR
I have Hella FF50's on that now, shown here with the Narva's on.

That's them. Functional but not pretty. I used a couple of CB radio mirror mounting brackets to attach them to the top tube of my crash bar. Very solid,
and a bit higher than the GTR. Anyway - I've put this a bit too far off track. Looking forward to the next catch-up in Nambucca. Mick.

Hi All
Recentlyy found this site. Looks like a good meeting/rally or whatever it's called. Is this the correct place to register my interest. Looks like a good way to qualify for a SS1600. I thought I was the only person that loved the open road...aparrently not ![]()
Looking forward to it although I'm gunna freeze my rse off out of Melbourne at that time of year
