Likely at least another 10 weeks for parts "ex-Germany". I bought this on ebay to get around on for the few months......... Racked up 2000km in the first three and a half days of ownership.

Crazy power and top end of course, but very well mannered down low. Stable handling. A bit of weather protection after the naked K1200R was good for a change, especially with the storm on Saturday night from Uralla to Muswellbrook. My wife and I have planned and booked a 2 week trip to Tassie this New Year. I was worried that the BMW may still be in the shop. Besides, springtime is great for mile-munching and after a couple of weeks with no bike I had had enough. Will cope with touring 2-up, don't you think? I agree the Hayabusa and the Blackbird are great value. The 'Bird that John Trotter rides used to be mine. I covered 23K in the 6 months that I owned it and it was great. The Suzuki is very similar. Falcon and Commodore in my opinion. Basically the same, despite some people having fanatical pro/con opinions. I had been shopping on ebay something a little milder. Say an SV 650/1000 or even a little GS500F. The 'busa cost just a little more, so the choice was easy. Anyone want to buy a well looked after Suzuki Hayabusa K3 in mid-January 2009?

Posts: 9 ( 6-Oct-08 9:21 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Bandit12 For the Tassie trip I have some new throw-over panniers, plus I'll run the BMW tankbag and I'll bolt on my trusty Givi "Flow" topcase for some added pillion security and luggage capacity. Today I installed Narva bulbs: Blue Power (80% brighter, 20% whiter) low beam H7 and Arctic Blue (4000K) high beam H3B. Much better. The run from Long Flat into Wauchope on the Ox the other night was not pleasant. With a bit of adjustment at least I could see. The Hayabusa Forum is full of tales regarding the standard light pointing almost straight down ex-factory. All true it seems. Somehow over the past 2 owners' 23000km usage, night riding wasn't real regular. The high beam bulb was twisted around 120 degrees and hanging out of the projector socket a good few mm. Any wonder that all I could see from it was a pretty arc way up high in the trees. Anyway, lighting all sorted now. 4 day long weekend coming up. Kosciuszko loop beckons. Cooma, Brown Mountain, Cathcart, Bombala, Delegate, Bonang, Orbost, Bruthen, Buchan (or is that Buchan, Bruthen?) Omeo, Hotham, Bright, Buffalo, Granya, Khancoban, Tom Groggin, Jindabyne, Cooma. Thats day one. I'll find some more roads I'm sure. At a guess I'll have added 10000km by January sale date. About $9000, less for mates rates. Or swap for a GS500F!

No Falcon Ute for this baby. Worst part was as we were loading up, a group of four Harley riders went by. Big grins and thumbs up. Dammit!! I have been making enquiries and discovered that motorcycle tyre fitters do not as a rule replace the valve stem while replacing the tyre. Car tyre fitters do. Go figure. What revs were you (?) doing when the conrod sought fresh air? Love the shed, just like mine with bits of GTR spread from......................................one side to the other! Something like a rock through the oil filter would do it...!!! There are a few engines floating around, but they are looking for aound the $2200 mark. Not sure whether I want to put an early R1 engine in it, they are a bolt in, but I'm not completely sure the electricals are a bolt in too....plus they have a different top end, so it may not run the best on FZ carbs. Will keep you posted. IBA #33742
