Mel's on the move again!
Let's hope there are no more problems. Should be a good Ride Report when (if?) she gets home. Regards, Bill |

thanks everyone for your messages of support!
I had an absolute ball on this trip - didn't want to come home, just wanted to keep going (don't think the boss would have been too happy with that though!) Next year's ride is already being planned - though I think next year I'll do the long way to the border and the short way home
And of course there will be a ride report! Should be done over the weekend

MAN! WHAT FUN!! I never knew how cool the middle of Australia was until i was out there on a bike on my own. You rock dude. Let's get together and
we'll work on that next trip, a few of us are doing a slower trip round (4 weeks) next year. Think you can keep up with a flock of busas?

lol well I can always catch up with you busa lot at the end of the day (just have a bourbon waiting for me ;) ). Yes the middle of Australia was very cool - I
had no idea! I didn't want to leave, once I got north of Alice Springs I felt like I was leaving and that made me sad. I think that is my new favourite
thing - just me and the bike and the open road - and absolutely nobody horizon to horizon - the open spaces - I feel a wave of peace just thinking about it and
I can't wait to go back.
I've got a little plan of doing the trip I did this year in reverse (so the long way to the Border Run and the quick way home) and it's looking like that might be a little group of Canberra Riders for that one. Well there is two of us so far! lol. We'll talk - if the timing is right we might be able to join forces for part of the way at least! (Can you imagine the small outback towns when a herd of sports/road bikes roll in? I saw enough surprise with just one sportsbike!) But I have a plan for a four week trip visiting the WA coast in 2010 ending at the off centre rally at Malparinka(sp?) giving me time for some flower sniffing along the way :) |

that all sounds like excellent fun! I was completely blown away by how beautiful it all was out there too, I was completely unprepared for it. I got sad as
soon as I got south of Alice, that for me meant I was on the way home. I was so excited by it, that's when I came up with the plan of doing the loop.
Admittedly, I was going to take five weeks, the 14 days is all Bruce. MAN it is going to hurt. I've got three weeks, I'd better get to the gym RIGHT
NOW and build up some strength.
