I found that when I changed to Shell Ultra fully synthetic oil the changes became just so smooth....... snick, snick, snick! Beautiful!

On any change, just remove the pressure your foot may have on the lever then hit it again to upshift. I don't use the clutch to upshift most of the time so I had been upshifting too fast while still having a slight pressure under the lever from my boot.

When you say for the foot lever returning to rest, this is coming up the gears from first?

I only mention it as I had that problem at the start, specially when doing fast changes. You need to make sure the foot lever returns to rest after the chahge. I had a tendency to keep a little pressure on it, it won't (or I can't) flat shift it.

Hi Nev, Thanks for the info, its caught me a couple of times taking off at the lights. Very scary to say the least, I will try what you suggested and lower the gear lever. The bike has just ticked over 5000ks; I love the bike and always looking forward to the next ride.

Hi Stephen,
The drive train is a bit tight for 5000Ks or so, I had the same problem when I first got mine, what I did was lower the gear lever 5mm or so by cracking the 10mm nuts on the adjuster.

G'day all, I don't know if its just my bad gear changing, but when I go from 1st to second I sometimes struggle to find second gear and end up into neutral. Other times its fine, has anyone come across this or is it just my bad gear changing?
