Patrick, I'd heard about the log trucks and was on guard for them.......... didn't see any. Maybe 3 vehicles south of Delegate?
Also, by heading south I missed the worst hazard of the road if heading north - there is no warning before the first gravel AT ALL. I've read accounts of
rider's rides ending right there in the dust. At least its a relatively slow road. Looking forward to a repeat ride when I go back to the Alps.

Geez Ox, all this talk about hitting roos, I think you might be jinxing me. Out for a bit of a ride around Kinglake north of Melbourne this afternoon and
almost collected a kamikaze roo bounding down a steep embankment. Don't know who got the biggest fright - him or me.

Don't know if it has something to do with the drought (Vic still in drought) but there seems to be more and more roos on the roads in the daytime.

Ray, I'm hoping that the bad luck bit has had its run of 3 already......

10mins before I hit the roo at Coonabarabran I copped a bird at $1.20 - right on the soccer ball sweet spot of my helmet. Dust and a pretty feathered wing mark
outlined on the black Shoei.

Maybe the flat tyre counts anyway (that makes it 4 bits of bad luck lately).

I feel blessed that I have stayed upright after hitting 2 roos.
