I&#39;ve been following this site for a while, and I thought I&#39;d post up the next ride. Two mates and I are going around the country (about 17 000kms) in
14 days. I&#39;m a bit nervous about the bit of dirt we are doing up the top end, but I&#39;m sure the Hayabusas will be fine, they are known for their
off-road ability. We&#39;re taking an 04 busa (mine) and two &#39;08 brand new busas. Sounds like a pretty extreme way to run a bike in to me. With over 1

			<description><![CDATA[ Likewise Bill - It&#39;s a tough area to break into. My last article was accepted before Christmas, but the Bear (Peter Thoeming) made it very clear that he
has really long lead times. He&#39;s been in touch through the year, but my story may fall off the list if better stuff comes in. Better than Two Wheels though
- They never even bother to respond. Stuff like Davo&#39;s big rides are more time sensitive, and I know that spots are &#39;held&#39; for topical (current)

			<description><![CDATA[ Heidi - I relive my big trips every time I see a photo or other momento (including some scratches on the bike). It stays with you for a long time. I&#39;m also
really looking forward to reading your trip report. If you end up writing a good story and decide that you want to send it to a magazine, (like RoadRider) just
remember that they shy away from articles that are too long. About 2000 words pulls them up, and you must have some good (hi-res) photos (at least 4 meg).

			<description><![CDATA[ Well done. It was a life-changing experience when I did it in 2006. Makes you realise just how big this country really is when you circumnavigate it on a bike
in a short timeframe. Hope you have all the stats logged (hours on bike, fuel used, average speeds, average daily distances etc). I still pull out my map and

Thanks so much for all your advice, it was happily received.  We had a top time, managing to do the loop in two weeks.  We had tyre troubles, all three Ventura
Racks smashed and I tumbled down a hill (respray time).  We got stronger the further we went, did 1600kms on one day and average of 1200 per day roughly.  We

			<description><![CDATA[ Heidi, I didn&#39;t realise u weren&#39;t sticking to highway1.   I&#39;ve done all that dirt section, albeit a few years ago.  Keep in mind that this
section will blow ur daily klm quota to bits.  The dirt/dust will also tire u out much more quickly and the corrugations will test ur equipment to the
max&#39;.  Find a happy speed on the corrugations and get on the gas in the heavy bulldust to get the weight off the front end.

			<description><![CDATA[ Try putting in a call to Wollogorang Station (08) 8975 9944 about fuel.  It is 266km from Borroloola and 217 from Burketown.  Right on the NT/QLD border.

Be prepared for many kilometers of corrugations.
