Just an update on Wendy. She has finished this round of heavy Chemo, now goes on maintenance treatment or targeted threapy which is not as toxic. Feels better already and is getting back into a fitness programme. Has a way to go but is doing remarkably well.All positive from here. Thanks everyone for your wishes, prayers and support.

New "2 Wheels" and the 2010 GTR

The new look "2 Wheels" at the newsagents this morning. After reading it since 1972, I find I don't mind the slightly changed format. A well balanced article on the new 1400GTR and most comments in line with what is available in so many other places. I like the comment "The 1352cc liquid-cooled powerplant is a beautiful piece of engineering". As has been said elsewhere, I just wonder at times if these is not too much electronic wizardry being built in to the bike. Mine...

Adelaide Toy Run SA

So is anyone going on the run. I will be coming to Adelaide tomorow for a family birthday on saturday night. I have to bring a lot of stuff down so will be in the cage but am trailering the bike (Tank) down so I can ride in the toy run. I will be meeting up with a bunch of other friend ( Ulyssians ) at Macca's on Anzac Highway at about 8:45 on sunday and then heading down to Glenelg for the toy run as a group. I hope I can meet up with someone else from here for a chat while there.

Was just coming through Cooroy travelling north on Thursday (in Pathfinder with trailer) when a green (1997?) GTR passed me going in the opposite direction. Was just wondering if it was a GTR-AUS member?

Newell Highway

There was a notice about the new speed limit on the Newell Highway being reduced to 100 KPH. Some of you may or may not be aware, but I know quite a few of you who use it or have used it. Black 1400 through Murtoa

I was just down the bank and a black 1400 went through Murtoa with panniers and a bag on the luggage rack heading out towards St Arnaud. Looked like a Staintune can, stock windshield and bloke riding carefully. I wonder who that was?

Z1000 club members I have a question

Is anyone here a member of the Z1000 club? I saw an awesome ZXR12 up at a motorcycle shop in Bundaberg.
It was really well set up for touring, I am interested in knowing what the units on the handle bars were. They looked like either an intercom system or similar and or a radio/mp3 player. They were both slimline units, and wouldn't be much longer than the handgrips.
The bike was silver in colour and was in the shop for insurance repairs.

The Snowy Ride 2009

Did the annual Snowy Ride this weekend. For those who are unfamiliar, it's on every year at Thredbo NSW and has been for the past few years. Raises funds for kids cancer. Some of the best roads in Aus around the Aussie alps. Great weather as well. Over 3,000 bikes attended. Only saw a couple of GTR14's and one GTR1000. Spoke to the GTR1000 rider who has never heard of our website, so put him in the picture.

I have an idea. We all have various bits and pieces squirreled away. I thought we could have a running list stickyed up somewhere. Maybe it could be grouped into subsections like suspension, engine etc. Could also work with special tools you've made.
So, if you needed something, you just click and send a private message.
I thought as we're all on the same bikes, we could help each other out and not charge postage etc, and maybe if you grab something off someone, you buy a...

WA GTR rider, who were you?

Last Sunday, Eyre Highway between Cocklebiddy and Balladonia WA. (more near Ball). I was in a Pajero with caravan, got overtaken about 10:00am ish by a GTR 1400 with a GTRAUS sticker on the back and 2 big aerials. I assumed one was a UHF so I gave a holler on ch 40 but no reply.

Just curious who it was and hope you had a good trip.
