As discussed. List the parts you have. Postage free to other members here, probably best to either keep it as a buy/sell transaction, or you replace the part member sends to you.

The Snowy Ride 2009

Did the annual Snowy Ride this weekend. For those who are unfamiliar, it's on every year at Thredbo NSW and has been for the past few years. Raises funds for kids cancer. Some of the best roads in Aus around the Aussie alps. Great weather as well. Over 3,000 bikes attended. Only saw a couple of GTR14's and one GTR1000. Spoke to the GTR1000 rider who has never heard of our website, so put him in the picture.

On my 2003 GTR1000 adjacent to the left-hand carburettor there is a small diameter black rubber coolant tube with a small plastic (either) coolant sight gauge or a coolant filter. On my bike this has become crazed and is weeping slightly - I've wrapped it around with Duct tape, but it obviously needs replacing. Question is that I have no idea what it is, or what it is called.
NB: I do have the workshop manual and it is illustrated in the exploded diagram in the Cooling System...

Upgrading Horn

Cruise Control - what brand?

My recently purchased 2003 GTR1000 has Cruise Control fitted to it. This was excellent on my trip "home" from Brisbane to Broome other than it wouldn't work for the first 10 or so minutes of every morning!!! The green power light would come on but nothing happened when pressing the "Set" button.

There were no instructions or such with it, and I cannot see marking on the unit to indicate the brand, thus making it impossible to check up on.

Because it is so fun and beautiful driving the bike in Luxembourg we did probebly one last ride in Luxembourg this year before the weather is getting to bad over there. It was one of the last day's this year the themperature was going to be nice around 15°. Winter is comming so the themperature is going down. This week the max themp is gonna be 9° and lots of rain and wind.

I have an idea. We all have various bits and pieces squirreled away. I thought we could have a running list stickyed up somewhere. Maybe it could be grouped into subsections like suspension, engine etc. Could also work with special tools you've made.
So, if you needed something, you just click and send a private message.

Tyres (yes, again)

I just arrived home in Broome today after 7 day (4,800km) delivery trip from Brisbane on just aquired 2003 GTR1000. The rear Tyre died after 1,500km - front tyre got me home, but needs replacing now.
In Mount Isa (which is as far as I got on the original) there is a Honda/Suzuki dealer and a Harley dealer - the former couldn't help, but the later (Mount Isa Motorcycles) was fantastic.They had a "150/80 HB 16 D401 ST" Dunlop that has Harley Davidson embossed on the sidewall...
